Job Summary:

The Data Privacy and Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that POOLCORP's data handling practices comply with relevant data protection regulations and standards. This role involves developing and implementing technical solutions to safeguard sensitive information, such as personal data, from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the organization complies with data protection laws and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.

  • Identifies potential privacy risks associated with data processing activities and assesses their impact.

  • Integrates privacy considerations into the design of systems, applications, and processes from the outset.

  • Implements encryption techniques to protect data both in transit and at rest.

  • Sets up and manages access controls to restrict unauthorized access to sensitive data.

  • Applies techniques to de-identify personal data to minimize privacy risks.

  • Establishes policies and procedures for the secure handling, storage, and disposal of data throughout its lifecycle.

  • Develops and implements procedures to respond to data breaches or incidents involving the unauthorized disclosure of personal data.

  • Provides training and raises awareness among employees about data privacy best practices and policies.

  • Works closely with cross-functional teams including IT, legal, compliance, and security to address privacy concerns and implement effective solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and additional 365 tools.

  • IT skills in Cybersecurity Analysis is a plus.

  • No required IT Certifications, but preferred.
